Northwich Against Business Crime is a pro-active partnership which operates between retailers, local businesses, police and other agencies within the town centre and out-lying retail areas.
It is run by a Steering Group and an executive Board of Management made up from its local business members. The partnership which is non-political and non-profit making, aims to:
• Work with local agencies to ensure that business crime is recognised as an important part of the local Community Safety strategy
• Reduce business crime and fear of crime through partnership working
• Create a safe and welcoming environment for our customers, staff and visitors
• Encourage growth and inward investment
Quality of life is an important factor for business success – crime and the fear of crime affects us all – our business, customers and staff. The increased mobility and anonymity of criminals and their ability to travel widely, means that there is need to develop crime reduction strategies that allow us to identify local and travelling criminals and manage their offending behaviour.
The formation of the NABC partnership addresses the need for a positive and co-ordinated response so that we can manage more effectively the threats posed by crime and anti-social behaviour. Our aim is to expand the partnership and strengthen working with the business community, police, local authority and other key agencies and thus ensure that our efforts are recognised as making a valuable contribution to the local crime and disorder strategy.
