Welcome to Northwich Against Business Crime – a partnership dedicated to promoting safety and security in the retail areas of Northwich making the town a safe and great place to visit and shop.

Northwich Against Business Crime is a retail crime reduction initiative, supported by the Home Office and based on a proven approach adopted towns, cities and shopping centres throughout the UK.

Cheshire Constabulary, the Local Authority, Northwich retailers and other key agencies have formally agreed a constitution, data integrity procedures and codes of practice to operate a police sharing of photographs and exclusion notice scheme which enables us to target our combined resources against the most prevalent criminals and those determined to commit anti-social behaviour.

The partnership, which is non-political and non-profit making, aims to:

Work with local agencies to ensure that business crime is recognised as an important part of local community safety strategy
Reduce business crime and fear of crime through partnership working
Create a safe and welcoming environment for our customers, staff and the public
Encourage growth and inward investment

Through partnership working we strive consistently to achieve our aims by:-

Sharing information about crime and suspicious activity
Reducing opportunities to commit crime
Identifying and excluding persistent offenders
Minimising the loss to businesses that is caused by crime and anti-social behaviour
Assisting in the apprehension and prosecution of offenders

Businesses work together with the police, sharing information to identify persistent offenders. The information sharing amongst members enables the partnership to exclude offenders from all members’ premises.
